Re: Can you copy attendance registers?
Hi @Kara.L.749
Thank you for reaching out to the Brightspace Community.
Yes, in order to copy attendance registers, you may take the following steps:
On your course,
- Go to Course Admin
- Next, go to "Import / Export / Copy Components
- Under "Copy Components from another Org Unit", click "Search for Offering"
- Then type in the name of the course you wish to copy the desired attendance register from
- Next, on a different window, you will be prompted to select the desired course and, then click "Add Selected"
- Next, click "Copy Select Components"
- Scroll down to "Attendance Registers" and select to copy either "All items"or "Select Individual items to copy"
- Then click "Continue" - - Finally, keep on following the instructions to conclude the process - you will be able to offset dates if necessary.
I hope this is helpful.
Re: Assign Creator+ to one course
Hi @Vicki.B.487
The following article explains how you can enable Creator + for one course at a time:
"You can enable Creator+ for your whole organization or roll out Creator+ tools for a smaller pilot by using the D2l.Tools.CreatorPlus.IsEnabled configuration variable. None of the Creator+ tools are visible until you turn on the configuration variable. D2l.Tools.CreatorPlus.IsEnabled is a cascading configuration variable that allows you to enable Creator+ tools for your whole organization, a semester, or a department.
When the D2L.Tools.CreatorPlus.IsEnabled configuration variable is ON, Practices and Insert Element immediately appear in the Classic Content and New Content (Lessons) edit page. The Content Styler applies the Creator+ style sheets to newly-created topics. A new or updated style sheet is not retroactively applied to existing topics."
Basically, once you search the Config Variable browser for the D2l.Tools.CreatorPlus.IsEnabled configuration, you will be able to set Creator + on or at the org unit level (courses).
I hope this is helpful.

Re: Lack of continuity between Community and PIE
Hi @Mike.B.559
You're 100% right- Today's PIE and Community use 2 different kinds of software and the usernames across each are different.
It won't be possible to @mention a user in PIE with their Community name.
We are steadily working to improve the Community experience.
In just over a year, we've:
- relaunched the Community on a new platform
- established single sign on between Community, PIE and the ASC Homepage
- released a Brightspace Virtual Assistant in the Learning Center
- released a new search tool (this just happened today🎉), available on all Community pages and also indexes:
- Developer documentation (valence)
- Learning Center content
- Blogs
- YouTube videos
That said, I agree with you - there's room for greater consistency and improvement across Community and PIE.
We'll continue to use our Community Roadmap and Community Updates Discussion to communicate large scale, planned changes to the Community experience - and will keep your feedback in mind as we look at new opportunities to enhance the Community experience.

Re: Upload File Access to the Media Library via API
Ah good point. I think in that case it's pretty definite that there isn't a (documented) API for the media library.
