Re: Learning Outcomes and External Learning tools
Hello @Tara.D.148,
Thank you for reaching out to the Brightspace Community!
Unfortunately, we do not have an estimate for when this planned functionality might become available.
There is a feature request in the Product Idea Exchange that aligns with your needs. Its status is “In Review”, and you can find it here:
Ability to attach standards directly to a grade item (D12584)
This is the Direct link: https://desire2learn.brightidea.com/ideas/D12584
While this feature is not yet available, the Product Idea Exchange (PIE) is where we collect feedback and suggestions. Educators can submit new ideas or upvote existing ones they would like to see implemented.
We kindly encourage you to upvote the PIE item linked above or submit a new PIE request. You can follow the steps outlined here to access PIE: Community FAQ's❓
Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.
Thanks, Ana

ASC PORTAL ACCESS ISSUE - FIXED: April 28 at 8:35PM EST.
Hi Community! The ASC portal is back up and working again. Thank you for your patience! For any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out through questions@community.d2l.com.
Re: Tips and Tricks category
Hi there,
Thank you for taking the time to share this thoughtful suggestion. You raise a very valuable point—given the depth and flexibility of Brightspace and Course Merchant, having a dedicated space for sharing practical “tips and tricks” from real-world experience could be highly beneficial for the community.
While this type of functionality (such as a dedicated category or structured space for sharing these insights) isn’t currently available, we would strongly encourage you to submit this idea through the Product Idea Exchange (PIE). This ensures that it is formally reviewed by D2L’s Product Management team and can be considered for future enhancements based on community interest and demand.
If you are not sure how to submit a PIE, please refer to this article for more information:
Re: "Password Reset" function no longer working
Hi @Elijah.B.864,
Thank you for reaching out via Brightspace Community!
Based on the behavior described, this issue may require environment-specific investigation, as password reset functionality can be impacted by authentication configuration and site-specific settings.
I would recommend creating a Support case so the team can review the configuration in your environment and investigate further.
Thanks,
Bhoomika

📚 Happy World Book Day!
April 23 is World Book Day, and you know our Community is all about learning and sharing knowledge with one another!
So we want to know… what's the one book that has stuck with you long after you finished it? The one you still think about, recommend to others, or that makes you want to reset your mind just to re-read it?
Drop it in the comments and share why it left a mark. It can be any genre. We'd love to discover your hidden gems! 👇
Re: Impersonating in a Distributed Administration context
Hi Karen,
Thank you for reaching out to us through the community.
Based on the behavior you’re describing, it may help to review how impersonation is designed at a permissions level.
According to the documentation:
https://community.d2l.com/brightspace/kb/articles/34437-about-impersonationhttps://community.d2l.com/brightspace/kb/articles/34437-about-impersonation
Impersonation is controlled through specific role permissions found within the Roles and Permissions tool. You can follow these steps to review the settings:
Navigate to the Roles and Permissions tool and locate the role for which you want to configure impersonation permissions.
Open the dropdown menu and select Edit Permissions.
Filter by Tool > Users, then scroll down to locate the Impersonate [role] permissions.
For example, if sub-org admins need to impersonate learners, they must have the “Impersonate Learner” permission enabled.
If, after reviewing the documentation and these settings, you still observe that sub-org admins can only impersonate users when Instructor permissions are enabled, this may require further investigation. In that case, we recommend opening a Support case so our team can review your specific role configuration and organizational setup in more detail.
Thanks, Romulo
