Re: How do I get a paper copy of my Brightspace exam?
This exact functionality is listed as Not Planned https://desire2learn.brightidea.com/ideas/D362.
Try this instead: inspect element and adjust the height on the responsive device viewer. You may have to fiddle around a bit to find the appropriate height.
Edit: it doesn't come out perfect. It may be better to print to PDF, open it in Word, and edit it so none of the questions are cut off by page breaks.
Re: Is it possible to filter enrollments by term?
Currently, you can use the general “myenrollments" action to filter the retrieved enrollments by: org unit type ("only course offerings" for example), whether the org unit is active or not ("filter out enrollments in inactive org units"), and date-based filtering. The date-based filters allow you to specify a date-time window (start and end): only enrollments in org units whose start and end dates fall within this time range will get included.
Re: Revealing a Rubric ONLY when it is Used
Thanks for reaching out to the Community!
To achieve your desired result, select your first option of "Rubric is hidden from students until feedback is published."
If you use the rubric, the scored rubric will be shown to students. If you do not use the rubric, students will only see what's written in the feedback box (not an empty rubric).
Note that when you go to publish this feedback/score, the assignments tool will warn you that 'not all rubric criteria have been scored' but you can select 'publish anyway' and proceed.
Hope this helps!
Re: Unexpected IPSIS Enrollment Behavior
Thanks Marla and Julie,
So per Julie's comment, we reached out to D2L with a support ticket and were informed that this has been identified as a new software defect: 01726825.
We've been informed by D2L that the developers are actively working on a fix for this but as far as I know we have not been given an ETA for when it will be available yet.
Re: Community Feedback🗨️
HI @Jennifer.Wagner3830 Just wanted to provide an update for you and others who may be following too :)
- Our Community Vendor believes there's an error impacting the count of group discussions which aren't being added to the "My Discussions" page- but they are being counted in the tally you see in the Quick Links Widget. -the vendor is aware and working to resolve this
- We're working to make some new edits and changes across some of our groups. The Developer Group had been set to secret since launch of the New Community- but as of today it's back to being public.
Re: Can a select box grade item be included in a Calculated grade item? Will students see their average
Hi @Karl.Carrigan566 ,
You are correct. A calculated item takes into consideration the weighting of each grade item that it combines. If you want to keep your grade weights the same, but also include a summary that considers different weights, a workaround is to use a formula item instead of a calculated item. Here's an example:
Assignments (Category, 60% of final grade)
A1 (Item, 50% of category)
A2 (Item, 50% of category)
Quizzes (Category, 40% of final grade)
Q1 (Item, 50% of category)
Q2 (Item, 50% of category)
Funkiness (Category, 0% of final grade)
Attitude (Item, 50% of category)
Outfit (Item, 50% of category)
Term 1 Evaluation (Formula Item, cannot contribute to final grade) = (A1.Percent * 0.5) + (Q1.Percent * 0.4) + (AVG{Attitude.Percent,Outfit.Percent} * 0.1)
This formula combines A1 and Q1, reducing A1 by 10% to make room for the Funkiness items, and includes Attitude and Outfit at 10% (whereas they are normally at 0%). A1, A2, Q1, and Q2 can be either numeric or selectbox items.
Let me know any questions.
Re: Home Page Set up With New Content Experience
@Ellen.Whybrow9239 Looks like your institution has the New Content Experience (also called Lessons) turned on, but not the Learner Experience within it. There is a config variable to enable it: d2l.Tools.Content.NewLearnerExperience
Re: Grade Item Associated to Deleted Dropbox Cannot Be Deleted
No problem. As we discussed on zoom. Your institution will need to start a case for that OU to see what is wrong with that specific offering. Since it is not functioning correctly.
