Re: Removing Final Grade from Gradebook
Hi @Laura.C.907
It is not possible to remove the Final Grade column from the Gradebook. From a student's perspective though, if your Final Grades are not released, they will not see them in their Gradebook. If this is the outcome you wish to achieve, you may follow the steps below to Unrelease your student's Final Grades:
- In your course Gradebook,
- Click the dropdown menu right next to the Final Calculated Grade
- Then, click "Enter Grades"
- Next, click to select all students in the upper left corner checkbox of your Gradebook.
- Finally, click "Unrelease" and confirm by clicking "Yes".
I hope this is helpful.
Re: Pagination not working with Sections in quiz
Hello @Mike.B.559
It appears this issue is related to a current defect related to Page Break after each section ignores empty section.
Once confirmed, details should be posted to the Known Issues List, reference defect 01839976. You can bookmark the Known Issues List Updates discussion if you would like to be notified when new items are being added.
Thanks and Regards,

Re: Export Content in SCORM Compliant Formatting
Hi Alec,
At this point it is not possible to export a course as a SCORM package. The export options available are: IMS Common Cartridge 1.3, IMS Thin CC 1.3, and Brightspace Package which is based on the IMS Content Packaging specification. The functionality being asked for is a great idea you could submit to the Product Idea Exchange (PIE). If unfamiliar with PIE the following is a great resource to get you started
Hope that helps!
Re: Pulse App - no audio
Hi Heather,
Make sure the users are running the latest version of the Pulse App.
Get them to check for updates in the app store and revisit the content if they haven't already done so.
Double check the content plays as expected (for you) in a supported web browser on the desktop.
Try and replicate the issue if you can on the Pulse App.
If the issue persists best to open a case with the Support team.
Provide them with:
- Link to the course/SCORM in which this is happening
- OS information of the tablet and smartphone the users have the issue on e.g. Apple or Android
- Note that you have verified the content plays as expected from the desktop and/or you can/cannot reproduce the issue
Hope this helps!
Re: Exam correct answer doesn't reflect the question library correct answer
Hi, @Steven.M.891,
Thanks for reaching us through the Brightspace Community.
Updating questions and answers in the Question Library will not reflect on quizzes previously created with those questions.
That said, you will now have to update this question in all your quizzes. This is how you can quickly update all students' attempts for a quiz:
In the Quizzes tool, click the down arrow right next to the desired quiz and click 'Grade':
Then, go to the 'Questions' tab.
Now, select 'Update all Attempts' and click the question you would like to modify the answer.
Under Grading Type, you will select 'Give to attempts with the following answer _____ points'.
Then just type in the desired modification and click 'Save'.
Here you can find more info on this topic:
Re: Exam correct answer doesn't reflect the question library correct answer
Hi Steven
The question in the Question Library (QL) is most likely a different version than what appears in the quiz. Presuming the question in the quiz was imported from QL (at which point the question id number in the database would match) then when the edit was made there would have been a prompt asking whether or not this change should propagate to any copies or not.
If the quiz itself has not been updated to match the new correct answer then it will be necessary to either (a) manually adjust the quiz scores or (b) edit the quiz to match the QL. However option-b will only impact future attempts and none of those already taken.
You would need to reach out to Support to verify things like the question id being the same but I think what you want to know most is whether you're stuck adjusting the scores for recent attempts. I'm afraid to say, "I think so".
I hope that's helpful

Re: What is ETA?
Hello @Alla.Y.290
To my knowledge, ETA is not a Brightspace-specific acronym, so it would depend on the context.
However, generally speaking, my understanding is that ETA would stand for 'Estimated Time of Arrival', which is a general way of denoting when something is slated for release (arrival) or expected to occur.
Example:
{
Question: "I heard that the new content experience (Lessons) may become the default content experience in the future"
Reply: "Although our plan is to have the new content experience become our default content experience, we recognize that the experience needs to be further developed before that can happen. We currently do not have an ETA for this change."
}
That said, if this does not help to explain ETA in the context you saw it appear, please feel free to elaborate or link to any pages where this was referenced and we can try to interpret.
I hope this helps!

Re: Is possible to modify the maximum score of a quiz when the student's attempt has already been mad
Hi @Sofia.J.331 Once a quiz has been taken, it is still possible to update its maximum score, but only through its associated Grade Item in your course Gradebook.
If the quiz grades have already been published in the Gradebook, you must retract its feedback, edit the grade item's max points, and then republish its feedback:
Retracting feedback on existing attempts:
- Go to Quizzes
- Click the down arrow right next to the Quiz you wish to modify the Max Points for
- Click "Grade"
- Click the upper left check box to select all users' attempts and click "Retract Feedback"
Updating Grade item's current max points:
- Go to your course Gradebook
- Click the down arrow right next to the desired Grade Item
- Select "Edit"
- Under "Grading", modify the Max points as desired
- Save and Close
Finally, republishing your students' scores
- Go to Quizzes
- Click the down arrow right next to the Quiz you wish to modify the Max Points for
- Click "Grade"
- Click the upper left check box to select all users' attempts and click "Publish"
- Save and Close
In this case, students' scores will be proportionally updated according to the new Max Points assigned to the Grade Item.
Let me know if this helps.
Re: Can a user access D2L from another country?
Hey @Karen Ran283,
Thanks for connecting with us here at the Brightspace Community.
Some countries have restrictions on certain sites, browsers, and so forth. While D2L is available abroad in many countries, some countries may have restrictions that prevent students from accessing D2L. When a student encounters a firewall, there are multiple solutions.
Here are a few ways a student could bypass a firewall:
- Use a proxy
- Use a VPN
- Use your smartphone as a mobile hotspot
- Use a SSH Tunnel
- Use Tor
Some of these solutions come with potential repercussions, like viruses if the student is using a service that is not secure. It is best to research the potential solutions more extensively before making a choice.
I hope this helps!
