Thank you,

Re: New quiz attempt submission image released?
@Heather.K.449 Yes, it's part of the quiz timing improvements update for this month.
Re: Hi, I'm building a navigation button in the topic content using bootstrap framework.
Hi Abu Aiman,
Thank you for asking this question. I discussed with internal teams and they informed me:
With how Pulse is built, we don’t have the ability to deep link and specify a specific page/content
Would recommend the user to add the link, but also include the wording of how to access the content so the user can navigate there manually on Pulse
iOS Application
Pulse iOS uses Universal Links to support deep-link integration. To deep-link into Pulse from an iOS application, you will need open Safari to the following link:
The following code snippet provides an example of what you could put into your iOS application to launch Pulse:
if let url = URL(string: "https://apps.brightspace.com/pulse/launch"), UIApplication.shared.canOpenURL(url) {
UIApplication.shared.open(url, options: [:], completionHandler: nil)
}
Android Application
Pulse Android uses Android App Links to support deep-link integration. To deep-link into Pulse from an Android application, you need to launch an activity with the deep-link: URL:
The following code snippet provides an example of what you could put into your Android application to launch Pulse:
startActivity(Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW, Uri.parse("https://apps.brightspace.com/pulse/launch")))
We would recommend the user to add the link, but also include the wording of how to access the content so the user can navigate there manually on Pulse
Did I answer your question?
Re: What are you using for course evaluations?
Hey Alex,
So sorry! I just saw this.
The watermark tool was super easy to integrate (Once they turned the LTI tool on for me on their side, months later… struggled with it forever because it was turned off on their side.)
Qualtrics seems to be a bit more complicated, we're in the middle of implementation for that now and the LTI isn't working. Their implementation team is through a 3rd party too, so they open tickets with qualtrics when something doesn't work right.
Have been stuck on this for a couple of weeks now.
Re: Course import using Brightspace API (and Postman)
Hi Richard
So as you are importing a full course from another LMS, I would suggest you speak to the implementation consultant and see if there is a different solution to this issue.
D2L has a bulk course import that can be done by Implementation based on standard course exports for some other LMS vendors.
This way you are treating the packages as a course and not a scorm package.
That said in Postman I used this POST {{BrightspaceDomain}}/d2l/api/le/{{leversion}}/import/{{orgunitid}}/imports/?callbackUrl="https://localhost:3000/oauthcallback"
In to a empty course shell to upload a scorm file, but as I said I do not recommend that you do it this way.
You should select the scorm file via select files and once it is uploaded you should receive a Job Token which the status can be checked with the GET {{BrightspaceDomain}}/d2l/api/le/{{leversion}}/import/{{orgunitid}}/imports/{{jobToken}}
the response will look like { "JobToken": "324", "TargetOrgUnitId": 14300, "Status": "PROCESSING"}
Re: Brightspace API "Invalid Parameters"
I think the issue you might have is you are uploading to 6606 as the OrgUnitId this should be a course offeringid not the 6606. eg in my case 14500 is the orgunit of the course I am trying to upload too.
Re: Student acknowledgement checkbox that work is original, at time of submitting assignments
Jeffrey's method will allow you to add your declaration for when students submit by accessing the Assignments tool directly,
If you're using Classic content and use Existing Activities/Assignments to create a link to your assignment, it's a different interface, so you'll want to modify the text on that screen. Adding it to the end of Dropbox.Viewer.txtNoSubmissions is the best place I have found, but it ignores the formatting tags like [br] so it doesn't look as great as it might.
Re: Student acknowledgement checkbox that work is original, at time of submitting assignments
Hello @Heather.D.353
Thank you for raising this great question!
Currently, the Brightspace Assignments tool does not have a plagiarism declaration checkbox. However, this is a great idea, and I would encourage you to check out the Product Ideas Exchange (PIE) where you can either post this as a new feature request or upvote an existing idea. Here is a similar idea that I think will interest you:
Add 'plagiarism declaration' message option to Dropbox (D1038)
Note: Dropbox was the legacy branding of what is now known as the Assignments tool.
Having said this, you could always consider leveraging other components of Brightspace to satisfy the use case. Here are some ideas for how others might be managing in the absence of purposefully built feature:
- You can Customize language terms using the Language Management tool to modify existing language within the Submit Assignment user interface. Fore example, term Dropbox.Shared.lblFiles would be one you could use for this purpose.
- You can setup a separate content topic or activity (quiz, checklist, etc) against which the assignment folder is release conditioned. Here is a list of Tools that support release conditions.
- You could use the Terms and Conditions tool capture a one-time declaration that users encounter upon login to your instance of Brightspace.
There are surely other ways to manage this – Brightspace Community share your creative solutions! – but the one that I think is most seamless is option 1. Here’s an example of what that could look like:
Before
After
If you need to report on this or need to be able to demonstrate acknowledgement (not just present the information where the learner is likely to see it) then option 2 might be better to go with.
I hope that helps!
Jeffrey
Re: MSA answer order
@Steven.M.891 Are you using the Multi-Short Answer question type instead of multiple blanks in a Short Answer question? That's the intended behavior for Multi-Short Answer questions, so if it's not working you might need to have your support team submit a ticket to D2L.
Re: Spacing between Paragraphs
Hi @Yeslech,
Instead of (or in addition to) hitting enter, try using shift-enter. My guess is that enter wraps in paragraph tags, and any empty ones (so <p></p>) ends up getting removed. Shift-enter should insert line breaks (ie: <br> tags) which forces blank spaces between lines.
