Re: Add one person to multiple classes
Hi Kara,
Thank you for reaching us through Brightspace community!
Using the Bulk User Management tool, you can enroll a user into multiple classes at the same time,
Bulk User Management (BUM) tool can be accessed by Navigating to Admin Tools > Users > Bulk User Management. While on that page, there is a view instructions link, which provides you with instructions on how to use the different actions that the tool can take.
You need to perform the ENROLL action to have the user added in multiple classes.
I am also attaching an article here > For more information on creating a CSV file for Bulk User Management tool for your reference.
Thanks

Re: Brightspace opens first topic in a unit, instead of the unit itself
For others, FYI depending on where you click on a visual content table of contents, it opens different things. (I didn't realize my mouse was moving a pixel or two off of the expected path.)
The following opens:
- The unit page
- The last topic opened/accessed
- The first object in the unit (in my case, a Lesson folder)
Re: Aside from replacement strings are there other ways to include variable information?
Hi Oliver,
Thank you for reaching out to us on Community.
Currently, Intelligent Agents only supports the replacement strings mentioned in the below article,

For other replacement string support, I kindly request you to submit a feature request in the Product Idea Exchange

Re: LTI Auth Tokens vs Developer Keys?
For security reasons Brightspace does not currently support LTI 1.3 integrations via Developer Keys (principally so we can control and encourage regular rotation of keys and secrets). LTI Advantage (1.3) based integrations use the standard OAuth2 client registration process based on the Tool hosting a JWKS key set, and gaining access to LTI Services via access token requests by identifying themselves with a signed JWT as in the LTI 1.3 core specification and 1EdTech Security Framework Specification; we do not support any other method of LTI Tool authentication at this time.
Legacy LTI (1.1.x) based integrations use the standard Consumer Key/Secret pattern identified in the LTI 1.1.x specifications. However, we do not recommend that Tools make use of the legacy LTI standards unless they already have such integrations in production. All new LTI work should use LTI 1.3's security model instead.
Re: Auto generated emails and notifications for "Final Calculated Grade"
Hi Andrew,
Thank you for your question.
The reported behavior requires further investigation.
Can you please open a support case with the required details(Course name, Example user names who received the grade notification mail).

Nik
Re: Placing content at different levels of the layout hierarchy
Hi Holly,
Thank you for reaching us through community!
You can create modules, sub-modules, and topics for your course in the New ( Lessons) and Classic Content experience. You can then add and organize your learning materials within this structure as part of Content.
You must create a new module before you can add topics. You can also create sub-modules (modules within existing modules) to establish a deeper hierarchy.
You can add content to a module or sub-module. This content is called a topic. Topics can contain audio-video recordings, uploaded files, text, and JavaScript all displayed in HTML.
Note: To enhance the security of content files that execute scripts to create extra-rich HTML experiences (such as objects that can execute JavaScript), there is a sandboxing feature that creates a secure iFrame around the HTML file. This allows an HTML file to execute scripts (such as JavaScript) within the iFrame only but will prevent them from executing outside the iframe (against the domain). This enables some flexibility in creating rich content, but reassurance for the security-conscious that end user information remains secure in all situations, such as when learners in specific courses have a special role with permission to create content topics.
So we recommend to please follow the hierarchy for a better flexibility.
You can refer below article for more details on how you can create the content items

Re: How to find out who hasn't done the discussion or quiz
Hi Michelle,
Thank you for reaching out to us via the Brightspace Community.
To view users who have not taken the attempt in a Quiz, you can follow these steps:
- Go to the course > Quizzes > In the Manage Quizzes page, click on the dropdown arrow 'v' next to the quiz name > Grade
- In the Users search tab, Click on 'Show Search Options'
- Add the filter > Restrict to 'Users who have not taken an attempt'
- Then do an empty search, it will show the list of users who haven't taken the quiz.
For Discussions, you can use Discussion Statistics.
Discussion Statistics is an overview of the activity levels in your Discussions. This area is divided into two tabs: User and Forum and Topics. Org Unit Statistics are displayed on either tab.
- Go to the course > Discussions Tool
- You can see the Statistics tab on that page
For emails, you can set up an Intelligent Agent to email all users who have not posted to a discussion topic, or who have not submitted a quiz.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Pulkit
ReadSpeaker Clients
Hi D2L and ReadSpeaker Clients,
In the last rolling update from D2L, something happened that caused the D2L to skip the ReadSpeaker webReader player in quizzes. D2L currently has an internal/defect ticket (#01882671,) and they are currently working with ReadSpeaker developers to correct the issue. Since ReadSpeaker does not want students to be left without TTS on their quizzes/tests/exams, we have a workaround.
If the quiz is not in a locked browser, the ReadSpeaker TextAid Chrome Browser Extension can be used to read all parts of the quiz. Once the student has entered the test, the student will click on the TextAid extension. Next, they highlight what they want to be read and click Listen on the Extension Player. Please follow these instructions (opens in a new window) if the TextAid Extension is not installed on testing center computers. The student can log into the extension when they begin their quiz.
If you are a ReadSpeaker client and do not have TextAid, please email me at ginger.dewey@readspeaker.com, and I will give you a temporary copy of TextAid so that you can install it on the computers where students will be testing.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
Best Regards,
Ginger
