Re: PIE Link Broken?
Hi Jonathan,
I recently had the same experience but the advice below from D2L (specifically point 2 ) resolved it. Hope you find it helpful,
Jennifer
"Most PIE Access problems can be resolved by following/confirming that the user is taking the following two steps:
1. PIE can't be accessed directly. They must login to the D2L Brightspace Community first.
To access PIE:
- Login to the Brightspace Community
- Select 'Product Idea Exchange from the navbar or from the quick link menu found on the Community Homepage
This article provides more information on accessing The Product Idea Exchange (PIE)
2. Please confirm that they've selected a Brightspace Organization in their Community Profile.
Typing a name in the organization field will prevent them from being able to connect with the Learning Center and PIE. They must select the org via the dropdown menu.
This article provides more details on updating their profile to select an organization."
Re: User Language Setting
That's right. Anything that's part of the user interface would be translated. Any content (including quiz questions, HTML pages, uploaded documents, etc) would remain in the language it's written in. I imagine an end user could run a tool or browser extension that translates things, but I also imagine that wouldn't be possible in a lockdown browser, depending on exactly how the browser works.

Is there a way to attach a rubric to a quiz/exam or better yet, a specific question in a quiz/exam?
I would like to add a rubric(s) for the written reponse question(s) on a quiz/exam.
For my CAD courses, there are several parts to an exam:
First part: Questoins (matching, multiple choice, etc.)
Second (and sometimes third) part: Drawing/CAD Model
For the last part(s), I have students upload their drawing/CAD Model to a written reponse question. I would like to use rubrics to grade this part of the exam. I could, if needed, create each exam part as a seperate exam in the quiz tool if that would enable me to add a rubric to the entire “part 2 (or 3)” of the exam. Best option would be to add a rubric to the written reponse question itself.

Re: How to Hide Past Course Offering based on Semester
You could make the courses for that past semester inactive, and then make sure the student role cannot see inactive courses.
You could do this for all the semester courses via the Course Updater tool.
Re: Alt text equals title?
@Luke.M.268, there is a separate location to be able to modify the Alt text versus the Title text for an image. As you are likely already aware, after inserting the image into a text box, selecting the image will give you a button for "Image Options", which has a field labeled Alternative Description. This would be to modify the Alt text.
The option to modify just the Title text is in a different location. Select the image again within the editor, and select the plus "+" icon on the toolbar.
There should be an option that appears for "Attributes", select it.
Here you should see other field options for any HTML element that you have selected. This would work for anything (paragraph, div section, image, iframe, etc.), but will include a Title field. Where you can edit the Title text without having to open the source code.
I hope that helps!

Re: How to create a timed assignment -- let students choose a 3-hour window any time of the day
@Emerson.D.932,
There are two options of differing quality that you could use to accomplish this.
First, using a Quiz, if you create a Written Response question, there's an option for Allow learners to insert images and add attachments. Then you can use the normal quiz options to limit time.
Second, using an Assignment (I'll preface by saying this is a more complex option), set the Start/End Dates for it for the 3 hour time where most of your students are when you want them to complete it. Then utilize the Special Access to give the students in other time zones a different Start/End date to give them a more accessible 3 hour block.
With the Quizzing option you can set it to either give them just the 3 hours between X time to X time, or have it open on a given day, and once they start they have 3 hours to finish. This certainly gives more flexibility to meet your needs. Alternatively the Assignment option isn't as flexible, and you'd have to give a set window when learners would be expected to complete it.
Hope that helps!
