Re: Grade item different points value to MCQ
@Dererca.N.877 Yes, only the percentage is sent from the quiz to the grade book so the grade item for that student will be 4.5/5
Excel Quiz Question
Re: Download/export list of students with special access
@Sue.S.4 I don't think there is a way to export that list from within D2L, but if your institution has access to the Brightspace data sets (you will have to ask your IT dept/D2L admin), there is an Assignment Special Access data set.
Re: Evaluating an assignment (6 points) - asked for 'overall grade' (4% weighting)
@Bart.O.6611 It's a little confusing because if you change the max points in the assignment, it will automatically update the max points in the grade item. However, if you change max points on the grade item, it will not update the max points in the assignment and they will be worth different values (which isn't too much of a problem since just the percentage gets sent from the assignment to the grade item anyway).
If you haven't graded any assignments yet, you can just change the max points in the assignment to 6 and it should be fine.
Assignment Annotation Tool Issues on iPad
I see that this was a known issue that was supposedly resolved (https://community.d2l.com/brightspace/kb/articles/26290-assignment-annotations-not-working-on-ipad), but I am still having this problem. Any help would be appreciated.
Re: Character Limits for "Criteria" and "Description" when creating a new award?
Hello @Kira.H.305
Thank you for reaching out to the Brightspace Community. The maximum number of characters allowed for both fields is 512.
Thank you,

Re: adjusting the # of attempts for a Quiz
Hello Caroline,
If you update a quiz to add an additional attempt, it will apply to all students, including those who have already taken the quiz. Here’s how it works:
- Adding Attempts:
- When you go to edit the quiz and increase the number of attempts, this change will be applied to all students. Those who have already taken the quiz will be able to access the new attempt based on the updated settings.
- Existing Attempts:
- Students who have already completed the quiz will see the new attempt option as long as the quiz settings permit additional attempts. If the new configuration allows it, they will be able to start a new attempt.
- Considerations:
- Make sure to communicate with your students about the update to avoid confusion.
- Check if any other settings need to be adjusted, such as attempt restrictions or availability dates, to align with your new quiz policy.
If you need any more help or have further questions, just let me know!
Best regards,
Miguel
Re: "You must complete the following quizzes for alerts to be enabled: Quiz Name"
Hello @Ryan.K.322 ,
Thank you for reaching out to the Brightspace Community.
If the student sees the message: You must complete the following quizzes for alerts to be enabled: {Quiz Name}, the student will be able to access the email after the quiz noted in the message has ended. While the quiz is in progress, the student's email access is disabled by the student instructor.
In the following article, you can see the information about this message in the topic "I get a "Not Authorized" error when trying to access my Email. What do I do?":
Please keep us posted if this information is helpful.
Kind regards,
Tauany
