Structured Assignment / Template-Based Submission in Brightspace

Hi everyone,

We are looking for a solution within Brightspace (or a third-party integration) that would allow learners to complete structured assignment-style activities directly inside the LMS.

The idea is similar to an assignment rather than a quiz. We would like learners to open the activity and complete predefined text fields, templates, or multiple response sections directly on the page instead of downloading a document, creating their own file, and uploading it again.

We are trying to find something that supports:

  • Multiple structured response fields/questions
  • Assignment-style long written responses
  • Template/form-based submissions
  • Integrated marking and feedback workflow for assessors

Has anyone implemented something similar or found a tool/integration that works well for this use case?

Any recommendations or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you for reaching out to us via the Brightspace Community!

    Based on the use case you shared, I believe the Brightspace Quizzes tool is the closest native option available for this requirement. The Quizzes tool supports multiple structured-response fields/questions, long written responses, and provides a grading and feedback workflow for instructors.

    At this time, however, the tool does not support template or form-based submissions.
