How to quickly identify ungraded quiz questions?

I have a large number of quizzes in my course. Many of these quizzes include at last one written response question. It seems that the only way to identify ungraded responses to these questions is to:

  1. open the grading page for the quiz (by clicking the chevron menu next to the quiz name and then clicking Grade)
  2. click Questions
  3. uncheck View evaluated responses
  4. click each question individually to see if there are any ungraded responses

That's is a lot of clicks just to see if there are any ungraded responses. Multiply this times the number of quizzes and I'm spending a lot of time just trying to find out if students have submitted their work. Is there a more efficient way to find this information?

I understand that Quick Eval is supposed to make this process easier. In my experience, however, Quick Eval is unreliable, especially when students are given access to a quiz after the due/end date. On a number of occasions, Quick Eval has failed to notify me that there is a new submission for a closed quiz.

    Hi Andre,

If you're wanting to grade by Question, then your method above is the only one I'm aware of, but if you're willing to Grade by individual User or Attempt instead, then under those tabs, you can filter Learners' Quiz responses by using:

    1. Show Search Options
    2. Under the "Restrict to" dropdown menu, select "Users who have completed an attempt"
    3. Under "Status", select the "Pending evaluations" radio button
