Pulse Login Loop

The Brightspace Pulse app on my android updated. I went in, and after four splash pages, I found the my institution's login and signed in through the faculty sign in. I am now stuck in a login loop. When I hit the "Return to Pulse" blue button, it loops back on itself.
My institution and IT department claims that they "little control over the Pulse app. Our suggestion is to uninstall/ reinstall the app, process any updates for your phone and the app then turn off and restart your phone."I have tried that without success.
