setting "no grade" to zero vs. not showing it

Hi,  In D2L we are given an option of setting the code to display zero grades as zeros, or as not displaying them at all.    Unfortunately, this appears to be an all-or-nothing option for a class.   I have a situation where I want some assignments set to a "no grade is a zero" option, but other assignments as a "do not display a grade at all if no grade is entered".     Is it possible to implement this change in the next version of D2L?

Current System & Expected Behavior

• Course-Level Setting by Design: In D2L Brightspace, the handling of ungraded items is controlled under Grades > Settings > Calculation Options > Ungraded Items. The choices are:

1. Drop ungraded items: Ungraded items are excluded from the calculated/adjusted final grade calculation.
2. Treat ungraded items as 0: All grade items with no entered score are automatically calculated as a zero in final score calculations.

• Scope: This setting applies at the entire course (Org Unit) level. Brightspace’s grade calculation engine does not currently support toggling between "Drop ungraded items" and "Treat ungraded items as 0" on an individual grade item or category basis.

At this time, we would like to suggest flagging the desired functionality as a new feature or Product Idea on the Brightspace Community. Posting the idea will allow you to communicate directly with the Product Planning Team and other Brightspace users.
