how do i delete a topic from a learning object in a repository

Question

I am trying to remove a topic from a Learning Object and cannot figure out how to do that. I can see how to delete the entire LO - but I want to keep two items in it . I am trying to get rid of the Tip: pop-ups… (in the screenshot below)

I have this LO in many courses so I don't want to screw up the link to the entire object. Any tips for handling this are greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the response.

You are correct that “Getting Technical Support (Updated)” is the Learning Object, while the items listed underneath are individual topics. There is no option in the LOR to directly delete an individual topic from an already published Learning Object.

According to D2L documentation, content changes require retrieving the Learning Object, making the changes in a course, and publishing it again. However, when overwriting an existing Learning Object, the replacement must maintain the same structure. Since removing the “Tip: How to Allow PopUps in Your Browser” topic would change that structure, you would want to proceed carefully, especially since this object is being used in multiple courses.

I can delete an entire object, but within the object in question (Technical Support), there are multiple items listed as topic. I don't seem to have an option to delete the inidividual items in there

Hello @Paula.C.2956, thanks for your question!

To delete an object from the LOR, you want to go to the Search tool for the LOR.

Once there, select the Repository where these items are stored (looks like Getting Technical Support (Updated)?)

Assuming you have the correct permissions for that Repository, you'll be able to select the drop-down menu next to the item and select Delete:
