Blocking users from Instant Messaging

Is there a way to block individual users from using Instant Messenger or for users to block other users?

    Hi @Mike.D.7,

    Thank you for reaching out to the Brightspace Community. We recommend reviewing the following configuration variable at the org level:

    • d2l.Settings.Navbar.HideMessageAlerts (Org)

    This variable controls whether Email and Instant Message alerts are shown in the navigation bar. If the instance value is set to Show email and Instant Message alerts, the Message Alerts icon and related options will remain visible, even if Instant Messaging itself is disabled for users.
