What is the recommended submission setting and why
When creating a submission for tertiary institution assignments, what would the recommended setting be for submission and why? What are the risks?
- All submissions are kept
- Only one submission allowed
- Only the most recent submission is kept
Thank you

Hi @Ceri.L.4472 think i can help with this one
All Submission are kept - this allows student to submit multiple files and keeps a list of all the files submitted. We have used this to allow student to submit multiple pieces of work to the same assessment area without having too many assignment links in a course. E.g. for our music student they may submit their written composition or lyrics and the audio of their piece in the same assessment. No risks here really other than a student submits too many files.
Only one submission - exactly what is says on the tin students can only submit one file to the assessment area, this could be done for a high stakes assessment where they only have one shot to submit. The main risk here is the student submits the wrong thing and you would need to intervene.
Only the most recent submission is kept - this allows students to submit multiple times but it will only keep one file which will always be the most recent submission the student has made. Great for those times when you may want to allow the student the opportunity to double check, they have submitted the right file to the assessment area and allow them time to resubmit but only keep one file in the submission area.
By default most of our staff have left it to be All submission are kept as it allows the students freedom to submit supplementary evidence for their assessments (e.g. appendices) but it may depend on the type of assessment you have
