Need Help! Admin question about viewing faculty activity online....
New user here. As an admin, can I only monitor the time my faculty spend online, or can I see the exact areas where they are spending their time (e.g., Discussion Boards, Assignments, etc.)? We're having some issues with faculty reporting hours that they are working, and I need to ensure they are doing what they say they are.

Brightspace does not have a built-in feature that tracks an instructor's total time in a course shell. While you can see tool usage (like when content is edited or discussions are posted), there’s no session timer or time-on-task report for instructors like there is for student activity.
If your institution has access to the Data Hub, the Instructor Usage dataset can show some basic interaction data (such as logins, tools accessed, etc.), which can be used to cross-reference their activity with your organization's time tracking.
Most of the detailed tracking features in Brightspace are focused on students, for example, with the Class Progress and Completion Tracking tools.
