Bulk uploading Certifications

I have a lot of certifications for about 1000 students. These certifications were earned through another organization. Is there any way to bulk upload certificates into DropBox to attach the certificates to the learner's profile in a course?

Hello @Ellen.W.101
Thanks for reaching out to the Brightspace Community. At the moment, learners have to submit assignment submissions themselves to the Assignments (Dropbox) tool. If an instructor wants to submit a file on a student’s behalf, they would need to impersonate them.
This request aligns with a similar idea that has already been submitted to our Product Idea Exchange (PIE). For your reference, here is the PIE idea: D8732.
Thanks and Regards,

Hi Ellen,
Thanks for your question!
At this time, Brightspace does not support a built-in method to bulk upload certificates directly into the Dropbox (Assignments) tool and associate them with individual learners. However, there are a few alternative approaches you might consider depending on your goals:
- Awards Tool: If the intent is to recognize external certifications, you can use the Awards tool to manually or bulk-issue certificates. While you can’t upload the original certificates directly, you can create a custom award and include relevant details or links.
- Assignments Tool (Manual Upload): If you need the certificates to appear as assignment submissions, one option is to impersonate each student and upload the certificate manually. This is time-consuming but ensures the certificate is stored in the course.
- Brightspace API: If you have access to the Brightspace API, it may be possible to automate the upload of certificates on behalf of students to a specific assignment folder. This would require some scripting and technical setup. The Assignments API would be the starting point.
