HTML Audio Recordings in Discussion Board not loading

I noticed there's already a post on this issue for Assignments, but it does not suggest a solution for Discussion Boards, which seems to be currently happening in my course. As the instructor I cannot access the student's audio file, and it appears that the other classmates cannot as well. Only the student can view the audio on their end.
So, in he Discussion, I'll see a file attached with the .html extension. When selected, I'm taken to this window here, with the link "Click to view":
When I click on that link, the screen displays "You are not allowed to view this object," and here's what I see:
However, when I go to the same Discussion post in a previous semester, the "Click to view" link would bring me to the Brightspace Audio Player, seen here:
Does anyone know what's going on here? Have the audio permissions changed from Fall 2024? The instructions I've provided the students are the same as before too, but here they are just in case my directions are incorrect:
Use the built-in audio recorder in Brightspace:
- Go to the Discussion topic for your assignment.
- Click “Start a New Thread.”
- Enter a subject and your comments in the text box.
- Scroll down to the Attachments area.
- Click Record > Record Audio.
- Record your reading, click Add, and then Post.

Hello Johnathan,
Some students and instructors have recently encountered an issue in Brightspace Discussions where audio recordings appear as
.html
attachments with a “Click to view” link that results in a “You are not allowed to view this object” message. This happens because the audio was recorded using the Record > Record Audio option in the Attachments area, which stores the file with restricted permissions, making it visible only to the student who uploaded it. This behavior differs from previous semesters and is likely due to updates in Brightspace’s handling of media file permissions. To ensure your audio recordings are accessible to both instructors and classmates, please use the Insert Stuff feature instead. When creating a new discussion thread, click into the text editor and select Insert Stuff > Record Audio.
I hope I answered your question.
