New learner/content experience: Start w/menu in viewer window?

In new learner experience, after you click on a module to view the content, it opens in a full viewer window. Along the left upper corner, you can select the 3 lines to open a table of contents. I'm wondering if there's potentially a config variable or another way to start with the left table of contents open on the screen? So, click on a module to view content, full viewer window opens with table of contents that I can choose to close, instead of choose to open.

Hi Denice, thank you for your question.

The only config variable available that regulates sidenav behavior is related to the student's last option. The d2l.Tools.Content.LearnerExperience.SideNavOpen config variable allows the system to respect the users last choice of whether to display the side navigation open or closed, in Learner Experience.

However, the default setting for the Sidenav menu is still closed, unfortunately. At the moment, it's not possible to set it to open as default.
