Is there a way to search a Brightspace course for a specific word?

We're moving to Brightspace from Blackbord. After a Blackboard course has been exported/imported into Brightspace, is there way to search the Brightspace course for a specific word (like "Blackboard") so that we can easily locate and change all references to Blackboard to Brightspace?

@Peggy.R.1517 Hi Peggy, there is a search box in the Content area of courses, but it's limited to only searching the titles of modules and items in Content rather than all the text found in the the files/pages.

  • Hello @Peggy.R.1517.

Thank you for contacting the Brightspace Community with your question.

First of all, welcome to Brightspace! We are delighted to have you here.

Regarding your inquiry, Brightspace offers a couple of options to search for a course using a specific keyword:

    • Using the "Waffle" Icon: Click on the square icon located at the top of your screen. You can either type the keyword you are looking for directly or use the Advanced Search feature.

    • Org Unit Editor: Navigate to Admin Tools > Org Unit Editor. Here, you can search for the desired keyword and specify the Org Unit Type as "Course Offering".

    Hoping this information is helpful.

Thank you for replying, but I'm looking for a way a faculty member can search their course site for a specific word, not searching for the name of a course. The only Admin Tool I have access to as a faculty member is the Media Library.
