Real time, ongoing grade earned (for student view)
I believe in providing my students with visibility into their grades throughout the semester, so they always know where they stand rather than waiting until the end of the term. However, I’m encountering an issue and would appreciate guidance. Currently, when I view the gradebook settings, it appears that the grades are “greyed out” and marked as unavailable unless I explicitly release them. When I use the “View as Learner” feature, students can see a running list of their assignments and performance but not their overall grades - meaning, in week 4 of a 16 week class, they can't see that so far they've earned an X grade, they just see each individual assignment grade earned, ongoing. My students like real-time ongoing grade updates (it's motivating for many).
Could you please advise on how to adjust the settings so that students can access their grades as they progress through the course?
Thank you in advance for your help!

@Lynea.L.6938 There is an "Automatically release final grade" option in the gradebook settings on the Calculation Options tab, but I think you must check that box before entering any grades or it won't work. Otherwise, yes, you have to manually release the final grades to students so they can see them, but you only need to do it once. They stay released unless you unrelease them.
