Textbook publisher syncing question

How do I delete duplicate assignments found when syncing with textbook publisher? Here is the message I received from McGraw Hill Connect.

Unlinked assignments

10 assignment(s) cannot be automatically re-linked because they do not have corresponding assignment names in Connect. If these assignments are not re-linked, students will not be able to launch them. In order to re-link them, select a Connect assignment from the dropdown. Otherwise, delete them from your LMS assignment list. Please note that your LMS assignment name will be changed to the name of the Connect assignment you link to.

  • Hello, Joanna, how are you? Thank you for being a part of the Brightspace Community!

If you go to the Assignments view of the course offering and try to delete the assignments from there, are you able to do that or are you seeing an error message?

This community Article has more information on how to delete them: https://community.d2l.com/brightspace/kb/articles/3405-reorder-edit-and-delete-assignments-and-categories#delete-assignments-and-categories

Or is the issue that you would like to identify which of the assignments are duplicated?

Please, let me know and I will be more than glad to further assist you, okay?

    Thanks!

    Piero

    Hello Piero,

    Thank you for responding.

If I go to the Assignments view in the course, the assignments that get linked from McGraw Hill are not listed, only the assignments I created in Brightspace are viewable.

I need a way to find the duplicate assignment "shells" that are no longer being used. I tried the assignments view and Manage Files and could not find them.

    Thank you,
    Joanna

  • Hi, Joanna,

    With pleasure!

When you look at the assignments view in Brightspace, you will be visualizing all the assignments that exist in that course offering: there are no other places you would manage these assignments, even if they are set to "hidden". If there are no submissions made to these assignments, then I would consider that they are no longer being used.

Does that shed some light into the issue? Also, would you kindly share with me a screenshot of that error message that you are seeing in Connect?

    Thank you and until later,

    Piero

    Hi Piero,

Here are screenshots of the messages I am receiving.

As you can see, the linked assignments from McGraw-Hill Connect do not show up in the Assignments area in Brightspace.

It says if you are not using these assignments, you can delete them from your course. That is what I am trying to do.

Thank you again for your help.
