I can't get my Visual TOC Banners to show the correct images

I'm having trouble getting my Visual TOC modules to show the images I want. All the modules seem to do is repeat the top banner.

I include the images in the top of the description box inside the modules and list them as decorative, but it doesn't matter. Last semester they would show up in the Visual TOC modules occasionally after I refreshed the page a few tiems, but now they are permanently reflecting the top banner. What can I do to fix this?

  • Hi Dane,

Can you take a screenshot of what is under the "…"? This may help solve the problem.

    Thanks,

    Andrea

Ok, I just noticed something interesting! I noticed that on Google Chrome, the module images look fine. But on Firefox, the module images just repeat the header. Could this be a browser issue?

  • Hi Dane,

This could be a browser issue. You can try to clear the browser's cache and cookies and test again.

    Thanks.

I tried clearing out all the cookies and site data, but the module are still repeating the header. The Google Chrome browser is still fine; this is only happening on Firefox 133.0.3 (64-bit) on my end.

  • Hi Dane,

I hope your year is off to a great start! Thank you for reaching out about the issue with images not displaying correctly in the Visual Table of Contents when using Firefox. This is caused by a browser setting in Firefox rather than anything within Brightspace. Specifically, Firefox's Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP) feature blocks certain content.

Here’s how you can resolve this:

    • Open Firefox and navigate to your Brightspace environment.
    • Click on the shield icon located in the address bar (to the left of the website URL).
    • In the pop-up that appears, toggle the switch to turn off Enhanced Tracking Protection for this site.
    • Refresh the page—this should fix the issue, and the images should display correctly.

Please note that this change will need to be made on each device where Firefox is being used to access Brightspace. Enhanced Tracking Protection is a privacy feature designed to block trackers and safeguard your browsing. Turning it off for Brightspace will only apply to this site and won’t affect your overall security.

If you have any questions or run into further issues, feel free to let me know—I’m happy to help!😊

    Warm regards,

    Isidora
