I have a faculty member who is putting in grades and they are getting an error message that instructs them to:

  • Enter a non-zero denominator.

They have been putting in grades for weeks now and up until today, putting in grades in the gradebook was not an issue. Then they opened the class today and this error came up having made no changes to the gradebook.

Thank you for connecting with us!

To assist you further, could you please share a screenshot that includes only the error message and the grade book, ensuring no user information is visible?

Additionally, could you confirm the steps leading to this warning message? For example, did the student have a grade recorded before the error appeared, and were any changes made after a grade was entered?

    Thanks!

I'm uploading a powerpoint with 3 screen shots. One where I circle a blank grade, one where I put a grade in the blank, and then a third showing the result when I press "save".

    Hello @Ric.C.683,

Thank you for the provided PowerPoint, it is appreciated

Based on the screenshots provided, can you confirm if you have any denominator with the value 0 in any of the grade items, including the final adjusted grade items?

    Thank you

That IS the problem. Never thought to look at that. The instructor had put a 0 in for ONE student in the adjusted final grade.

    Thanks so much!
