Hello,

Can someone please tell me how to pull data for new user accounts created within a Brightspace environment?

Some context- I am trying to stay on top of new instructors teaching classes for the first time. Thank you very much!

    Hi Marc,

Thank you for reaching out! The Data Hub tool might be helpful for what you’re trying to track. Data Hub allows administrators to access various data collections (data sets) from Brightspace and export them as CSV files for further analysis in third-party tools. You can find more information here: About Data Hub.

In particular, it sounds like the Users dataset contains the information you need. This dataset provides a list of users in your organization and includes a column called SignupDate, which indicates the date a user was created in the system (in UTC). You can learn more about this dataset here: Users Data Sets.

    To access this data:

    1. Navigate to Data Hub (often found in the organizational Homepage Navbar) and search for the Users dataset.
    2. Download either a full dataset (a complete view of historical data) or a differential dataset (containing only changes since the last successful run, retained for two weeks). Differential datasets are smaller, more up-to-date, and faster to download.

Please note that the availability of the Data Hub tool depends on your roles and permissions. If you don’t see it in your Navbar, this may indicate that you do not have the required permissions to access the tool.

Let me know if you have further questions or need assistance!

    Best regards,
