Setting up a cookies banner - to get user consent for Google Analytics

Hi,

We have installed google analytics on our dev site for Brightspace, and would love to start collecting data in live.
However we can't find any documentation bout adding a cookies banner into brightspace, and ensuring that users consent before we collect their data.

Can anyone point us i the right direction for this documentation

We've followed this to get it set up as it stands without user consent: https://community.d2l.com/brightspace/kb/articles/23673-google-analytics-integration

Hello @Christina.T.727, thanks for reaching out! I also checked existing documentation and it seems that the cookies consent banner tool is currently not available on Brightspace at this time.

While this functionality is not yet available, we think that it's a good idea to have one! We really value feedback like this from our clients and would be grateful for you to submit an idea within our Product Idea Exchange.  You can access through the Quick Links widget found on the main homepage of the Community.

Thanks for the help; sad that this doesn't exist as means that you can't actually use google analytics, so means the ability to do the integration is worthless.

For refrence the product idea is: D11904 so please do anyone else that is looking to collect analytics data via google analytics (and Clarity) thumbs up my idea. Fingers crossed this will get picked up and worked on soon.

As this data will be so valuable for so many customers

Hello @Christina.T.727 thank you so much for helping our the community by submitting your idea! I found this on PIE and personally gave it an upvote! I will also share this with the product team.

I'll keep this in mind and refer this discussion to someone who's also waiting or wanting to have the same functionality.
