Are there administrative data features where I can pull course stats?
I am wanting to gather data on the use of Brightspace at my university—we have online and in-person programs, so some instructors are hardly using Brightspace. I want to change that!! I am hoping to be able to view course data that could tell me which current semester courses have content in them and which course shells are not being utilized. I can't find anything in the DataHub that seems to fit what I am wanting.

Hi Kourtnie - I think it is going to come down to what does "being utilized" mean. You are saying courses that have content. You can use the Content Objects dataset and filter the information by the org unit IDs (Course IDs) for the active courses. You could also join Content Objects with Organizational Units and then filter by "is Active" or by dates to get only current courses.
You could also look at Course Access and Course Access Log to determine which courses users are accessing on a regular bases.
If you have Performance+, you can use the Adoption Dashboard to find this information as well.
Hope this helps!

We have found the Instructor Usage Advanced Data Set has been useful for getting an overview of how prepared the instructors and courses are.
Here's an article about it from earlier this year:
