Can replacement strings be used for nicknames?

Many students do not go by their given first names, and in some cases really don't like being called by their first names. Can a replacement string be used to pick up the nickname field in the profile?

Hi there!
Here is a list of all the available replace strings that can be used in content. It doesn't look like the preferred name has a replacement string at this time. I found this article though which shows that if a user has data in the preferred name field, that is the name that should be used across the learning environment. I would connect with your LMS admin to check how things are configured.
