In the Quizzes tool, if you add an inline image to a question with the editor, the image will appear as a broken image with only the alt text displayed

if you preview the quiz, the image is displayed.

This is very odd behaviour and very unexpected. Are you adding a new image or inserting an existing image from your Brightspace environment?

it happens with both uploading a new file or choosing an existing file

Where/how do I report this as a "bug"?

We are encountering the same issue, instructors editing quiz questions with image files cannot see the images during the editing process. I've noticed two variations of this problem. In one case, the text editor displays a broken image icon, but in the other there is no indication in the WYSIWYG editor that an image is present in the question.

After further testing and consulting with D2L Support, it appears that this issue is specific to the Firefox browser in our environment. Switching to another browser has resolved the problem, allowing us to edit quiz questions with images easily and efficiently.

    I hope that helps.

  • the problem happens for me with Chrome… maybe a browser setting? not sure what though

I have this as well in Chrome and is frustrating to manage quizzes. Why is it so specific to browsers? I have not tested in other browsers.

Follks, we are having the same issue here and after some testing it appears that the problem is specific to Mozilla Firefox. I am using 135.0 (64-bit). The image preview in the HTML editor in quizzes appears to work normally in Chrome and MS Edge.

    Has this been reported?

  • Hi @Brian.S.372 - I'd suggest putting in a support case with your Approved Support Contacts so that way we can capture the number of clients impacted and it's properly triaged through our Support and Development teams. I'm reviewing the Known Issue list and not observing anything at first glance.
