customizing the Units in NCE

Hello,

We received the custom colors update for the New Content Experience and while faculty are happy to customize the colors, many aren't too happy about the change of the look of the modules.

The color of the Units and Lessons are just a sliver of the module buttons, and in an all white screen the colors barely stand out. I've attached images of the updated version and the older version.

Is there a way we can have a choice in how the module buttons look to revert it back to the old look?

As a campus, we invested a lot of time updating courses to the NCE for the modern look, ease of navigation and readability, but now those arguments don't hold up as much since some find the lack of color to hinder readability and ease of navigation.

    Hi there!

This is really great feedback. At this time, there is no way to set how much of the module box will have the colour on it. I think this is a really great suggestion to add to PIE and strongly encourage you to create a PIE item for it.

    Hi,

I totally agree with every point made in this initial post. Our update just happened last night. This UI is definitely contrary to the look we want to achieve and is especially disconcerting to our students and faculty in the middle of their summer courses. It is difficult to even see the color blocks - which was the whole reason we went to the NCE. There should be a way to revert back to the original color set. Why should this have to be a new PIE?? W

Are we to understand that for every Lesson module, the instructors have to physically go into each module and change the color in order to apply this to the sub-lessons? If so, we don't even see the Display option on our instance.

The only thing we were hoping for was to have the student view of the Lesson modules inline so they would have the same view as the instructor. Doesn't seem like that happened.

Hi @Linda.B.584, Thanks for supporting my initial post.

I created a PIE entry about this issue (D11578). Please consider upvoting it.
