How can I use a Formula Grade item to calculate out a final grade.
This gradebook is using the weighted system. I have many categories that include many grade items in each. Weighting is very different for each category. In this program, the in class learning if worth 80% and an external exam is worth 20%, however, the gradebook needs to reflect specific weightings for the in class learning that add to 100% so I can't actually edit those to include the Final Exam @ 20%.
So I need a way to add a formula that will calculate this out. Is that possible? I have tried many ideas but nothing is working properly. I do know how to use the formula editor but I can't use the actual totals of each category to calculate and redistribute the weighting to get to 100% (including in class and exam).
Any ideas?

You can use a formula grade for your final grade calculation, or add it as a seperate graded item. Here is some info on to do that .

Unfortunately that won't work as I need to use a weighted grading system and the Formula option won't work with that.
