Why do some Google Docs/Slides show as links in Activity Feed?

Why do some Google docs appear with a preview, but others only show as a link when attached to the Activity feed posts using "Attach from Google Drive"?

In the example below, "Jake and his Dad Go Camping" and "Dad to the Rescue" have the exact same sharing permissions (anyone with the link can view) in Google, however only the second entry shows the document preview. I am the owner of both files.

The preview is a lot easier for early learners and English as an Additional Language students so we would like to ensure that the preview view is the one we add.
