Problems displaying inline LaTeX in the Quiz tool?

I'm trying to use inline LaTeX in a quiz question, such as:
\( \vec{a}=\left[3,4\right] \)
It displays fine in the little preview when I am creating the question. When I preview the entire quiz, however, none of this code is rendered with math notation (it just appears as I typed it above).
I do not want to use the "Graphical Editor" nor "LaTeX Editor" from the dropdown - I'm looking for something faster to use that is also easy to edit and process elsewhere.
Anyone else having this problem? Will students see the same code, or will it reliably render for them?

Hi @Brandon.G.153 -
You can contact your administrator and ask them to enable d2l.Tools.WYSIWYG.InlineLaTeX for your courses.
With the caveats that this can cause issues with the surrounding HTML and that LaTeX is not accessible for users with screen readers.
