Instant Message Notification (SMS/Email/Pulse)

If a faculty uses Instant Message within the course to communicate with a student -
1) Will they get a push/SMS notification to their phone (there is not option for this in settings)
2) Will they see the message/notification of message in/via the Pulse App?
