Formatting and file sharing/saving issues

When using the Brightspace function on my university’s website and the app, the formatting of the files posted by my professors is messed up. Not only is the formatting an issue but I am unable to download, save, convert, open/share to another app (word,pptx etc). I am using an up to date, IPad Pro. Someone please help!
