Thats a shame. The new interface is more difficult to navigate, takes longer to scroll through, and when the grades are "updated" the responses still state "auto-graded" instead of being changed to "graded by…" unless we have actually changed the grade. Therefore, unless we physically change a grade, there is no way for instructors to know if they have reviewed the exam already or not when exam review is necessary. There is not one single improvement from this new interface, and it actually makes things less user friendly and more time consuming to navigate.

I'm curious why this was changed and also if instructors are ever asked their opinion prior to making changes. Because I have never been asked my opinion as an instructor, and every new change or update seems to make things worse, like removing the "Chat" feature, which was the only way to hold online office hours through D2L. Now holding online office hours through D2L is basically non-existent.

    Hi @DAVID.L.935,

Thank you so much for sharing your detailed feedback, we hear you, and we truly appreciate the time you took to explain your experience with the new interface.

Our goal is always to ensure that Brightspace supports instructors like you in delivering exceptional teaching and learning outcomes. The updated Grades interface was designed to align with the modernized experiences in Assignments and Discussions, aiming for a more consistent and accessible workflow across tools. That said, we understand that changes in familiar workflows could impact day-to-day activities.

We’d love to better understand the specific aspects that feel less user-friendly or more time-consuming for you. through Product Idea Exchange (PIE) where feedback from instructors like you is regularly reviewed by our product team. I wanted to call out that feedback through PIE — plays a key role in influencing our product roadmap.

Thanks again for engaging in this conversation. Your perspective matters, and we’re committed to continually improving the experience for all educators.
