Re: HTML Audio Recordings in Discussion Board not loading
Hello Johnathan,
Some students and instructors have recently encountered an issue in Brightspace Discussions where audio recordings appear as .html attachments with a “Click to view” link that results in a “You are not allowed to view this object” message. This happens because the audio was recorded using the Record > Record Audio option in the Attachments area, which stores the file with restricted permissions, making it visible only to the student who uploaded it. This behavior differs from previous semesters and is likely due to updates in Brightspace’s handling of media file permissions.
To ensure your audio recordings are accessible to both instructors and classmates, please use the Insert Stuff feature instead. When creating a new discussion thread, click into the text editor and select Insert Stuff > Record Audio.
I hope I answered your question.
Re: Is it possible to create a quiz where the questions are graded one by one?
Hello @Trudy.D.955 ,
Thanks for reaching out Brightspace Community.
You can use Self Assessments as a formative assessment tool that allows you to provide students with a series of questions and give immediate feedback on their responses.
I am sharing few KB articles you can follow to create Self Assessments.
I’m also sharing documentation on Creator+, which might also be helpful in building formative and interactive learning activities. This tool allows you to create engaging content that enables learners to test their comprehension and receive immediate feedback on their understanding of a topic
I hope it helps!
Regards,
Bharti

Re: Ignite the Joy of Learning: FUSION 2025
I am registered for the Fusion main conference, can I attend the training workshops that's scheduled for the pre-conference?
Downloading Discussion Threads?
I am interested in downloading an entire discussion thread from D2L, including names, who said what, and when. I need this in a single file, either in a doc or pdf format. My goal is to analyze the patterns using content analysis techniques. However, I'm having trouble figuring out how to do this on D2L. Could you provide guidance on how to achieve this? Thank you in advance for your help.
Best,
Tony
Copying discussion "starter" threads from semester to semester
Hello.
We are using the Classic Content experience. Does anyone know if it is possible to copy "starter" threads that the instructor creates from semester to semester?
Here's the use case: Instructor has created a Discussion forum. Within it, she has 5 different "starter" threads that she would like students to reply to. She doesn't want to have re-set them up every semester. She wants those starter threads to by copied. Is that possible at all? If so, how would you do that?
If not, how would you suggest she sets up her discussion?
Exporting Discussion Post
Hello,
We have some users that would like to export Discussion Post. They would like the export to include the context of the discussion post, and the replies of the students. In addition, they would like the author's and student's names to remain anonymous. Is this possible? I did not see a way of doing this.
Thank you.
