How to assign learners to report to managers.
I am trying to set up reporting via the Manager's Dashboard and keep receiving this error. I've already assigned the manager and learners to the same organisation and allowed the Manager to Enroll learners. Please advise

How can I remove old Scorm Completions?
I have replaced my SCORM package several times in my course and have many results in my reports as a result. How can I remove those reports without deleting the associated completion to a user?
How to keeping draft content invisible - without learner seeing a 'holder' page
I've developed some learning, and have some draft HTML pages which I don't want the learner. I've toggled to make sure it is set to not visible to learner, but when the learner goes through it, a page comes up with the message 'This content item cannot be rendered'. You can still click through, but obviously doesn't look great.
Is there any way of the page just not featuring at all for the learner, whilst keeping the draft content.
Thanks for you help in advance, and apologies if this is answered elsewhere. I couldn't find it.
Have a great day!
Steve
Re: Replacing a Scorm
Hello @Lindsey.P.28,
When you add a package topic to the content, you have an option for the topic to use latest version (default) or current version. If the topic references latest version, when you upload a new version for the package in Add New SCORM/XAPI, the package the users see would also be updated. The completion, grades and any other information submitted by the previous package is retained.
Please note: if the user attempts to launch the new package and they did complete the previous package before, the completion data may be reset.
I hope this helps!
Thank you,
Rusha
Correct OAuth2 scope for creating new News items
I am trying to incorporate News item creation (endpoint reference link) into my web app and am running into permissions/OAuth2 scope problems.
The API reference does not mention specific scope requirements for POSTing to /news, and this knowledge base article seems to suggest any route without specific notes should be covered under the `core:*:*` scope.
Is this accurate and I'm actually running into other permissions issues? Or is there a currently undocumented OAuth2 scope for this endpoint that I should be using? I'm able to create a new News item directly in the LMS UI, and my role has full admin privileges.
Thanks!
Re: How to overwrite file when updating topic file
Hi Sreelakshmi,
Thank you for your reply! I have been experimenting with the new Course Files APIs, so I'm still getting up-to-speed a little bit.
While it can help manage files, these endpoints don't actually address the problem that I've outlined here, and from what I can tell is not currently possible with existing API endpoints.
To reiterate the goal, I want to be able to update a topic file and have those updates overwrite the existing file, not create a new file.
From what I've found, I can:
- update a topic file, but this creates a copy (e.g. File.txt → File.txt - Copy (1))
- manage course files, specifically delete a file (e.g. delete File.txt and/or File.txt - Copy (1)).
But I can't use these in combination to functionally perform an overwrite. If I:
- Start by deleting File.txt, the Topic turns into a 404. I cannot use the update endpoint to then put new content in a file also called File.txt (as it does not exist)
- If I start by updating the Topic file, it keeps the old File.txt, but the Topic now points to the new File.txt - Copy (1) file. I can use the new APIs to delete File.txt, but I want the file to retain the same name, not with Copy (1) appended to the name.
I've also filed a PIE item (#10606) that explains this further. The ideal use case here is copying the functionality that already exists for the "create Topic" endpoint that gives you the flexibility to create a copy (renameFileIfExists = true) or to overwrite the file (the default for "create Topic").
If there are any endpoints or parameters I'm missing to get this behavior, please let me know! I'm also happy to clarify the problem further if my use case is unclear.
Thanks,
Matthew
Can I export User pronouns using Data Hub ?
Hello, I've been asked if we can export a report of all users who have set their pronouns in Brightspace. Neither the User Attribute Values or Users Brightspace Data Sets contains this info.
Can I get it from somewhere else ?
News service API resulst in 403 (forbidden) when retieving anouncements fot a user
When I use GET /d2l/api/le/(version)/news/user/(userId)/ tot get the announcements for a specific user I get an HTTP 403 Forbidden message unless the API call is performed by a user who is granted the (Super) Admin role.
When I use GET /d2l/api/le/(version)/(orgUnitId)/news/ to get the announcements for a given orgunit it works fine.
I think it has to do with a permission that is missing in the none-admin role we want to use for our integrations but I can't find which one. Is there documentation on which permissions you need for certain API endpoints?
