Assignment Text Annotations not saving

We are seeing an issue where we try to edit text annotations with typos and the the edit is not saving. After the change has been made, it seems to revert to the original version with a typo. According to a Brightspace Community post, I saw that this was fixed in July 2024, but this is still happening.

@Angela.A.3462 I'm glad it helped you out! The 4.0 GPA scale mentioned in that video is specific to Michigan State University, so you can safely ignore that. Your school may have another scale that is required for final grades. When you export the grade book from each of your classes, all of the students' usernames will automatically be in the file, so you can upload grades for the entire class at once for as many grade items as you would like.

One can use the course copy APIs to manage course copy jobs that copy navbar components; however, there are no APIs at this time to manage navbars directly.

seems like you're encountering issues due to the use of apostrophes in usernames when creating users via the D2L Brightspace API. Unfortunately, apostrophes in usernames are typically disallowed to avoid conflicts or errors in the system.

One potential workaround is to create a unique mapping between the email addresses and usernames by stripping out special characters like apostrophes before creating the user. This can be handled through a pre-processing step in your API or CSV operations, ensuring that usernames remain compatible with D2L’s restrictions while emails remain intact for communication purposes.

As for future updates to allow apostrophes, you would need to check directly with D2L support or their development roadmap.

Just wanted to say that I really appreciate your time and patience walking me through this API functionality! Even though it wasn't the "answer" I was hoping for, that's certainly not your fault. That's just how the API works for now. Hopefully my suggestion in PIE about incorporating Pinned timestamp logic into SortOrder will be considered for the future as well. :)

Is it possible to set the active navbar through an API call?

We're moving towards a standard navbar for all courses after years of not enforcing one. We have maybe 40% of courses using a custom navbar and will be removing the permission to update navbars soon. I'd like to be able to make an API call to set the Active Navbar for all OUs this semester, but I haven't seen anything in the documentation that suggests that it is possible. Hoping someone has some ideas.
