Re: Is Visit a content item condition met when admin impersonates a user?
While impersonating, you can review how content appears to the student, test assessments, and see the layout of the platform as they would experience it. However, Brightspace ensures that this impersonation does not modify the student’s actual participation data or progress tracking. This is particularly useful for checking course settings or troubleshooting without skewing analytics or student engagement metrics. So in effect, what you describe is normal behavior of the platform and that is how it is configured. All of this is based on experience, since, even though I searched for it, I did not find the aforementioned documentation. Let's wait and see if anyone supports us.
Re: Class Progress
Hi Gabrielle.R,
By third party tool I'm assuming you're referring to LTI tool content links.
And you're right, the completion status of an activity in the 3rd party tool is not currently recorded back in Brightspace aside from the user clicking on the link to access it. This flow is dependant on both sides: the LTI 3rd party tool provider sending the completion data; and Brightspace capturing the completion data.
The idea for Brightspace to capture the completion data sent from a LTI 3rd party tool provider is a good one. Please consider making a submission to the Product Idea Exchange (3rd Party Tool) for review and consideration. If possible please connect with the 3rd party tool providers requesting the sending of the completion data to the Brightspace where required.
Just to note this is different for SCORM content, where a SCORM object can send back a completion data to Brightspace if its designed/built to do so.
Regarding access to the Class Progress tool, this is controlled through the Admin tools > Roles and Permissions. Before making any changes at that level please consider making completion tracking on the LTI tool links a manual task for the learners vs. being an automatic one. See
Hope this helps!

Re: Sending an Email to Instructor Only Using Intelligent Agents
Okay, thank you so much @Stefanie.B.518 for the help and resources! I truly appreciate it!
Re: How to extend the deadline for a single student in a discussion
@Jennifer.W.973 Thanks, that was what I was missing. I now have access to the PIE!
After checking the links above it shows a long history of others asking about this same issue for the same reasons but it appears it still has not been implemented. There are some "ideas" of a workaround but nothing specific enough for a novice like myself to implement.
Re: How to extend the deadline for a single student in a discussion
I tried what you said and it does not seem to affect anything. When I click on the PIE link provided above I am directed to a login like this
The email and password login are not the same as the one for the community site as I tried those and they don't work. Using the "forgot your password?" link results in the following
There is no option to actually create an account so I am at a loss.
The discussion forum is still with the whole class, you just have one learner replying last. They can still reply and contribute. There are quite a few condition types in the release condition drop down menu but I am not sure how any of them could be used in this context.
I appreciate everyone's response but this issue is still unresolved. If anyone would be so kind as to post a specific work around in this thread I would be most appreciative.
Re: How to extend the deadline for a single student in a discussion
I am new so I am not sure how to search for a discussion by the D#, perhaps someone could just answer the question within this thread?
Re: How can I fix my discussion forum in order to see other student responses
Hi Gabrielle,
Usually, discussion posts are visible to all as soon as a person posts, but instructors do have options available that mean you may not be seeing posts from others on purpose. If you are a student, it is likely your instructor may have opted to either hide responses until you have posted a thread to a discussion yourself, or has discussion responses waiting for moderator (instructor) approval before they are visible to other students.
Re: Is there a way to remove release conditions for one student?
Hi there!
I think what you're looking for is an exemption. Here is a link to how Brightspace handles exemptions and how to set them up and to ensure your grade book also reflects that (check out the menu on the left side of the page).
horizontal scrolling in gradebook
How do I keep the email checkboxes on the extreme left side visible when scrolling to the right in the gradebook?
