Re: Best way to display course size information to faculty?
Hi Brian,
We are looking for the total file size in MB/GB rather than just number of files, which unfortunately Manage Files does not show.
I already have written reports in Insights that will sum the sizes of all the files in a course but the tricky part from there is getting that information to faculty. We currently don't give faculty access to Insights and the hope is that we can give them access to this information within the courses themselves.
Thanks for the reply!

Re: What does 'quiz entry, switched tab' denote in the Attempt logs on quizzes?
Further to the above (thank you @Iwona.S.533) here is some more detailed information on the Quiz Attempt log update.
The "Switched Tab" event is intended to indicate if a quiz event for the current quiz has occurred in a different tab or window than the previous events. So if a student opens, answers, or navigates to the same quiz on a different tab or window.
For example, if the student opens up two tabs of the same quiz, and answers one question in one tab and the other question in the other tab, there will be a "Switched Tab" message added to the event log, resulting in something like "Response to Question 2 Saved, Switched Tab".
No "Switched Tab" event will be logged if the student opens another tab and searches for the answer, and then returns to the quiz and answers some questions. So instructors should not be checking for the "Switched Tab" event to see if students are searching for answers on other tabs - it will not be logged.
Re: Can I show different versions of content based on the User profile?
Hi Chris,
You can edit the release conditions of that widget.
Course Admin > Widgets > Edit the widget:
Release Conditions > Create a New Release Condition:
I recommend reviewing the documentation about widgets as well:
You can create copies with different release conditions.
I hope it helps.

Re: How to make a global Widget that functions based on the current course?
Hello Francis,
Thank you for reaching out to us and sharing all the details. Unfortunately, it is working as expected. The widget was created at Org level and the condition is added at the Org level, thus, it will consider the Role/User Account which is at the Org level.
In order to make this work as per your requirement, you will need to copy the widget at Course Offering level and include that widget in the homepage of that Course Offering.
I understand that this way you won't be able to control it globally i.e. from Org level by just adding it in one Homepage. When we add this Release Condition 'Enrolled in current org unit as the role: Expired' - It says 'Current Org Unit' and it will consider the actual Org Unit where this condition is added i.e. in this case it is considering Org Id as it is added at the Org level. Unfortunately, it is how the Release Conditions work in the system right now.
I hope I was able to explain the behavior.
However, this is a potential feature request. Thus, I would encourage you to log a Feature Request using the Product Idea Exchange option.
Please feel free to update this thread if you have any questions.
Thank you,

Re: Use of GLOSSING for ASL Videos
Hi @JoHanan.S.831
this is the kind of question I love, because it helps me to learn more.
I was not familiar with GLOSSING before you shared your question, but as a result I've been introduced to this video which has helped me to learn more about ASL GLOSS
I've also consulted with our Accessibility Team here at D2L and they shared the following with me
Adding GLOSS to an ASL video means writing out the English equivalent of each ASL sign. GLOSSING is another line of words like captioning that appears on the video interface.
To create GLOSS, one must know ASL. Our system supports addition of GLOSS. If a captions file is created with the captions in one line followed by the GLOSS, then uploading that captions file should produce a GLOSSED ASL video.
You would not use auto-generation of captions because there would be no audio in an ASL video.
I hope this information is helpful to others who may learn through your question and provide you a way forward to add GLOSS to your Video Note files.
This information explains how you can edit a Video Note Caption File
Re: PostMan CLI and Brightspace-- Anyone gotten this to work?
Hi @Kyler.C.608
I am not the expert you seek- but I've tried to reach out to folks here at D2L much more knowledgeable than myself in this area- but even those folks noted that their experience with CLI was a bit more limited.
Their best suggestion was that the 401 error likely indicates either an access or login problem.
Have you been using the Learn Postman with Paul Course for your Desktop/web access?
