Re: how to handle late penalty
I would really like to see an automatic late penalty option added, but when I try to follow the link to vote for it, I get a log in prompt and cannot log in. I don't get an option to register and when I click the only option available (reset password), I get an error message. How do I access the ideas page to vote for features???
Re: Migrating from Sakai?
Hi Matt,
Great post! Thanks for sharing Brock University's experience & lessons learnt during your LMS migration project.
I'll flag your post with our Community Team to see how we can make this information more prominent/visible for clients migrating from Sakai to Brightspace.
Thanks again, Chris
Re: Grades displaying "days late" messages for items from Assignments
Thanks, I don't know that the instructor wants a hard "end" date.

Re: Known Issues List Updates
Please just link to the page. It's cumbersome and annoying to click your link expecting to be taken to the page and instead get a download.
I don't want to download it every time you share a new version, but instinctively click that link because the natural step is to go to the page.
I prefer to choose when to download, myself.
Re: Release Notes Updates
Ditto on the RSS feed or option for a notification on the D2L release updates only - subscribing to this means every single comment gets a notification, which isn't always helpful when trying to isolate important things.
Re: Release Notes Updates
Greetings,
Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere, but is there a way for users to subscribe to release notes updates as a newsletter email or RSS feed?
Since the switch to this new D2L Community platform, I've had trouble getting these notifications anymore at all or being able to get just the update posts.
If there's another option that can send update notes to email, that would be amazing. : )
Thank you!

Re: Quiz Page Breaks
Also, is there any chance on hearing from UX Designers and/or Developers here? Who was consulted re making this change initially and what avenues are available (if any) to be consulted for any future changes? The inflexibility of the current system is unsustainable.
People care about this. Here are some related posts from the PIE:

Quiz Page Breaks
I sometimes have one question with multiple sections. It doesn't work to have the sections on different pages of a quiz, so I can't divide by section. Breaking the quiz up by every 5th or 10th question is also problematic, as the questions aren't evenly spaced for such divisions.
Will there be a return to customizable page breaks again? It would be very valuable to some
Search functions and Searchability within Brightspace Classes
Hi! I'm wondering about the search features in Brightspace and how to utilize them if they exist. Is there an internal Brightspace way to incorporate a search function into a large class for the users? I would hope the search function would allow for a user to enter any words and then multiple avenues be identified to explore?
For example, once inside a class (content) could you search for "pythagorean theorem" and be shown the multiple places that this lives within that class? And also provide links to those places?
I'm curious if we've just missed a possible switch/button that we could turn on for this function? Fingers crossed!
Re: How do I reliably add Sections to Groups for Lab Courses to manage due dates?
Hi, Jef!
- You may create the sections in your course offering, let´s say: Section A and Section B
- Create one Assignment (same assignment for Section A and Section B)
- Define Special Access and Release conditions to allow all Section A students to upload their work on Monday and Section B students on Friday.
I hope this helps you!
