Preview content as Student is missing in New Learner Experience

Hello team,

My designer found that the button of "Preview content as Student" is missing if I click the "gear" icon on the left menu after turning on the NLE (screens attached).

NLE is ON:

NLE is OFF: NLE Off.png The permission remain the same and I'm wondering is this button hidden or move to another place now in NLE?

    Please note that the “Preview as a Student” option is available when the New Learner Experience (NLE) is turned off. This option is only available within the New Content Experience (Lessons).

    If you would like to see this functionality added to NLE, we encourage you to create a new feature request in Product Idea Exchange (PIE) so our Product team can review it for future consideration.

    Is there any other config variable browser settings I should pay attention to in order to use "Preview as Student" given I have turned ON the New Learner Experience (NLE)

    Thank you for your follow-up.

    To clarify what is currently known:

    • The “Preview as Student” option is available within Lessons (New Content Experience). When the New Learner Experience (NLE) is turned on, this option does not appear under the gear menu on the left — this is expected behavior.
    • Your configuration (d2l.Tools.Content.UseLessonsExperience = On) is correct for enabling Lessons. There are no additional settings or browser configurations that will make the button appear in the NLE interface.

    This is consistent with current system behavior.

    If having Preview as Student more directly accessible in NLE would help your workflow, the best path is to submit a Product Idea Exchange (PIE) request so the Product team can consider it for a future update, as suggested by Bharti.
