Using Brightspace on a Phone is problematic
When using on a phone, such as watching videos of lectures, it is difficult to get back to the list of activities, also, should be able to continue to play the video in the background when changing apps. Also when you do go to another app or get interrupted by a phone call, when you go back to the video, it starts over from the beginning. Should be able to download Video Lectures to play while mobile. Very poor interface with Mobile Devices

You can also go back to the list of activities by clicking the arrow icon.
Based on what you’re describing, I think it would be a good idea to have a support agent take a closer look at things. Please contact your Helpdesk to initiate one.
