Createspace unlocks new ways to manage your content. It lets you organize course materials and gives insight into previous versions. There are also features to edit collaborators and configure ownership of content.
The result is a more efficient content structure that can easily be shared and deployed across your organization.
In this article, we'll look at three content management features you can try in Createspace.
1️⃣ Folders - for organizing your content
Make a habit of using folders to group content in Createspace. You can create folders in both the Content Library and Asset Library and can even create folders within folders for added depth. This feature mimics the experience of organizing files on a desktop computer and lets you stay organized and reduce time searching for files.
2️⃣ Version History - for insight into previous content iterations
Select any individual Createspace item to view its version history. You can accomplish this by navigating to an item, selecting the Actions menu (three dots) and selecting "Version History." For assets, this will appear as "Manage Versions."
When this is selected, you will see a log of all previous iterations of this item. You will see the date this iteration was made and who worked on it. You can duplicate any previous iteration as a new file or deploy it across Brightspace.
Version History gives you a complete record of a content item. It gives insight into who has worked on it and lets you restore a previous version. This ensures nothing is lost or hidden from content creators.
Additionally, by using Named Versions you can give important revisions a meaningful name in addition to the automatically recorded date and author. Named versions make it easier to clarify and identify milestones within the Content's lifecycle.
3️⃣ Collaborators - for shared access and teamwork
Some roles can use Createspace to add Collaborators to folders and manage ownership of individual content items.
If you have the right permission level, you can share your folders with other Collaborators in your organization. Collaborators can view, upload, and manage all assets in the shared folder.
You can also manage ownership of your content and assets. Use the "Transfer Ownership" action to move control of learning objects and modules to a new owner so they can edit, delete, and deploy the items.
