Exporting rubric, editing xml, reimporting and overwriting rubric

Hello, is there a definitive means of overwriting a rubric upon import?

The process I'm using is:

- exporting the existing rubric as a brightspace package

- updating the xml within the rubrics_d2l.xml file

- repacking as a zip file with the other related resources from the initial export

- Import Components > Advanced Options > overwrite

The issue that I'm running into is that the updated rubric imports properly, it just will not overwrite the existing rubric. It creates a second version of the rubric, with the same exact rubric that I'd intended to overwrite.

Thank you for reaching out to us via Brightspace Community!

I was able to confirm that, currently, only components that overwrite course files are supported. Course files are overwritten if one of the files being copied has the same name as an existing file. No other components are overwritten.
