The following API call can be used to get the Quiz attempt data of a particular user
https://docs.valence.desire2learn.com/res/quiz.html#get--d2l-api-le-(version)-(orgUnitId)-quizzes-(quizId)-attempts-
You may need to pass the UserId of the logged in user in the query parameters to get the attempt details of the specific user.

Thanks for the response, I think I am OK with this part although I am unsure what to use as the version number. I think The issues I am having are linked to registering an OAuth app and then using these details
Hey Martin! What about using the Quiz Tool to create a "Custom Quiz Result Display". You would be able to create a summary view straight from the tool. Here is a screenshot:
