I would like to give extra credit to some students but not all. How do I set this up in grades?

Thanks for reaching out to the Community! You can create a Grade Item in your Grade book, and check the checkbox “Bonus” - what this does is ‘add’ the item on top of grades, and not count them as part of the normal course. You can then go to Grades and evaluate this item from there, and it will give extra credit. You can also select the checkbox ‘can exceed’ for a grade item, which means you are allowed to type a number above what the grade item is worth (12 out of 10, for example). This solution may work for you depending on how it will be assessed. Let us know if this is on the right track!
