Re: Grades displaying "days late" messages for items from Assignments
Our instructors don't always want hard end dates either and are annoyed by this change.
Re: Community Feedback🗨️
Thanks for your quick reply. However you're missing my points.
I have set up the SSO, but NONE of what you say is working, passing me through to the old site, clicking through or even loading it separately.
QuickLinks widget—will you allow us to edit this to set OUR quicklinks? I expect a specific link to do so, blatantly at the top.
The link in the QuickLinks widget doesn't work.
Also, the FIL/KIL downloadable works, yes, as I said, but downloadable should not replace the web page. We are expecting to click to that PAGE and being able to download once on that page if we choose. I don't want to deal w/ a downloaded file all the time—it's cumbersome and messy compared to doing a quick look at the webpage.
All of the above ARE my challenges. I just spoke with a colleague and she is having the same issues.
I have tried from two browsers with no luck.
Call me Frustrated!
Re: Using Brightspace Course as an Instructor & Admin Handbook
Hi @Anthony.Rusinak9163
Our Brightspace Learning Center offers a perspective on this via Brightspace Guided Training (either for Instructors or Administrators)
I'm excited to hear from others in the Community about the way they use Brightspace to help onboard and connect Faculty and Admins using Brightspace too!
Re: Is it possible to copy intelligent agents between course?
Hi Olivia,
To add on, while the answer is 'Yes, you can copy intelligent agents between courses', they do come over as disabled so they don't run until you have set them up in the new course. This means you will have to manually enable them in the new course and update the run schedule if you are using the calendar.
Best regards,
Bee
Re: Unable to open the Discussions list
My problem is with a desktop HP PC. However, the problem with opening my discussions list has largely evaporated on that PC. How? I cannot be sure b/c I tried numerous "fixes" to no avail. But I recently purchased the Norton Utilities program and the problem with the discussions list not loading has gone away. I did have another non-loading episode a few days. But the problem cleared up after I ran the Norton Utilities app. My best guess is that when the computer's available memory gets low b/c of running multiple programs or the Chrome browser hogs the memory the problem reappears. The Norton Utilities app does "replenish" lost memory so maybe that's it. (But I had previously made adjustments to low memory before using NU but the problem remained. From my experience, it is most likely a computer issue rather than a Brightspace issue. I'm keeping my fingers crossed hoping the worst is behind me. 🙂
Re: Release Notes Updates
The nav bar link in the LE will be updated to the new site automatically with the CD monthly update.
Re: Change the background of a D2L credential information page
Hi Ervin,
Thank you for asking this question. Unfortunately, the answer is no; the background is not customizable.
Thank you
Re: Change the background of a D2L credential information page
That is too bad, would be a great opportunity for branding when using the URL to share away from the institution.
Re: Why do awards shared to LinkedIn show D2L as the issuer?
I think I figured something out. There is a Config Var d2l.Tools.Awards.IssuerLinkedInId ( Org ). If I am understanding correctly, this controls which organization appears as the Issuing Organization. So we could adjust this at the institutional level, but not at the award or even course level.
Why do awards shared to LinkedIn show D2L as the issuer?
When creating an award, we specify the issuer name, issuer url and email. But when sharing an award to LinkedIn or Badgr, the issuer comes in as D2L and the student/award earner would need to adjust this themselves. Is this by design? Or could it attempt to match the issuer name that we entered on the award?
