Exciting Updates to the Product Idea Exchange (PIE) Program
In the coming months, D2L will be reviewing submitted Product Idea Exchange (PIE) items and updating their statuses. As valued community members, we want to inform customers about these updates and what they mean for existing submissions.
We greatly appreciate the time and effort put into sharing your ideas. This feedback plays a vital role in shaping our product direction and ensuring we deliver meaningful value to all our customers. If you’ve submitted multiple ideas, you may receive multiple email notifications as we work through the backlog and update each submission’s status.
Why Are You Receiving These Updates?
As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and engagement, we are providing updates to ensure you understand how your ideas are being considered. Submissions will receive a status update, which could fall into one of the following categories:
- Released: Great news—your idea has been brought to life and is now part of the product.
- In Planning: Your idea has been prioritized for a future release and added to the product roadmap.
- Under Consideration: Your idea is being evaluated and may be included in a future release, depending on evolving business priorities.
- Under Consideration (Voting Open): Your idea is still open for voting and further community feedback while under review.
- Not Planned: After careful evaluation, we’ve determined this idea will not be pursued at this time.
- Duplicates: Your idea is similar to an existing submission and has been merged or closed to avoid duplication.
- Closed: Your idea may be highlighting a potential defect. Your PIE item will be closed, the details of the potential defect will be sent to the relevant team for review.
A Balanced Approach to Prioritization
While every idea is important and thoroughly reviewed, not all can be implemented. Our product team works diligently to balance priorities across a robust roadmap that delivers value to a diverse, global customer base. This means weighing innovative ideas, high-impact requests, and other strategic considerations to ensure we address the most pressing needs across our product portfolio.
